We’re really excited to be involved as a sponsor and exclusive online retailer for Wine Of Design.  The brain child of Rory Kent (v-know, The Young Gun of Wine Awards), WoD brings together icons of the wine and creative industries, all to raise money for Make Poverty History.  These are some really cool collaborations, all pulled together by design heroes, 3DEEP, transforming the wine into little liquid and glass sculptures:

¾     Matt Moran (Aria, Sydney) did the label for PHI Lusatia Park Pinot Noir;

¾     Nick Littlemore (Empire of the Sun) for Mount Langi Ghiran ‘Langi’ Shiraz;

¾     MATERIALBYPRODUCT (fashion) did Yarra Burn Blanc de Blancs;

¾     Sass & Bide (fashion) for Ocean Eight Aylward Pinot Noir;

¾     Sam La More (record producer) did Coldstream Hills Reserve Chardonnay;

¾     Anthony Lister (artist) for De Bortoli Melba Reserve.

We joined the Melbourne launch of WoD at David Bromley’s very surreal studio, surrounded by his paintings, sculpture and rooms vividly decorated with antiques as well as some rather odd things like taxidermy, surgical apparatus, etc.   The Sydney launch was held for lunch at Aria, where there was obviously some serious creative talent in the room, (notwithstanding Wine Salon,) but importantly, we really got to see how impressive the wines are.  Matt Moran served up:

¾     Rock oysters with mignonette dressing & Yellow fin tuna with red curry dressing with the Yarra Burn Blanc de Blancs;

¾     Sashimi and cerviche of Hiramasa kingfish with octopus, cucumber and citrus with PHI Sauvignon & Coldstream Hills Reserve Chardonnay;

¾     Peking duck consommé with dumplings, shaved abalone and mushrooms (be-still my beating heart) with the PHI Lusatia & Ocean Eight Aylward Pinots;

¾     Aged beef fillet with paris mash, spinach and red wine butter with Mount Langi Ghiran Langi Shiraz & De Bortoli Melba Reserve.

If you could bring yourself to spoil the incredible packaging, you’d be rewarded with some serious booze.  Like more info on the project? wineofdesign.com.  Or purchase online Wine Salon: Wine Of Design.  With only 50 bottles of each wine produced, it is naturally very limited.
